Creating the client

  1. Navigate to Clients

Click Clients in the left sidebar. If you're brand new, you'll see an empty state with a prompt to add your first client.

  2. Click "+ New client"

This opens the client creation form. You don't need to fill everything in right now — you can always edit these details later.

  3. Enter the client name

Use the brand or business name (e.g. "Acme Corp"). This is internal — only your team sees it unless you've set up a white-label client portal.

  4. Enter the website URL

Use the full URL including https:// (e.g. https://acmecorp.com). This is used to pre-fill integrations and audit tools.

  5. Choose an industry (optional)

Selecting an industry helps the AI content brief feature write more relevant, domain-appropriate briefs. You can skip this and set it later.

  6. Click "Create client"

You'll be taken to the client's overview dashboard. It's empty for now — data fills in as you connect integrations and add keywords.

What you can do next

Once a client exists, you'll want to set up at least one data source before there's anything useful to look at. The two most impactful ones to start with:

  • Google Search Console — Pulls 16 months of clicks, impressions, and ranking data automatically. How to connect →
  • Keywords — Start daily rank tracking for the terms that matter. How to add keywords →

Editing client details

You can update any client detail at any time. From the client's overview page, click the ⋯ menu in the top right corner and select Edit client. You can change the name, URL, industry, and timezone.

Tip — Use one client per domain

Rankrop works best when each client maps to one root domain. If an agency client has a subdomain strategy (e.g. blog.acme.com), use the root domain and track subdomain pages via GSC property filter.

Managing multiple clients

On all paid plans you can create unlimited clients. They all appear in the Clients list, where you can search by name, filter by status, and sort by last activity. There's no limit on keywords, reports, or briefs per client.

Deleting a client

Go to Settings → Client settings (or the ⋯ menu on the Clients page) and click Delete client. This permanently removes the client and all associated data — keywords, history, reports, briefs, and portal users. This action cannot be undone.

Warning — Deletion is permanent

Deleting a client removes all keyword history, reports, AI briefs, and portal access. Export any reports you need before deleting.
